The shallow coral/rock outcrop just off the boardwalk creates punchy, hollow peaks and a real hazard at low tide - watch the exposed plates around the lifeguard tower.
The spot favors NNE-NE long-period swells and is cleanest with W-WNW offshore winds (early mornings) and mid-rising to high tides to minimize exposed reef.
The north end (by the tower) is steadier while the south end often cleans into better-shaped lefts.
