West wind is the clean offshore lane, east swell is the main trigger, and the tide is usually workable all day with a slightly tidier middle window.
Turn off Coles Bay Road and follow the gravel road to the carpark, then walk in to the beach.
Heavy rips, isolation, and cold water are part of the deal, and the campground keeps the place feeling like a surf mission rather than a day-use beach.
