The Wave
Sandbars around the pier shift often-outside bars near the end can produce hollow, short-lived peaks while an inside trench can wreck the takeoff zone.
When the sand is right the spot favors S-SE groundswells or large NE windswell with light W/NW offshore breezes.
It tends to work across most tides but performs best on a mid-rising to high tide when corners open up.
Rips and occasional sharks are reported.
